Often times when we are surrounded by those who are of a younger age, we hear them talking in what seems like code, "Did you see that pic I posted to snap?" Often times we smile and nod and really have no idea what's actually going on. In this blog you will learn what you need to know about the social media apps that most likely, your children are using.
One of the most popular of the social media apps is Facebook. This is a place to share photos, write comments and update your status to stay connected with friends and family, near and far. While it may seem that if you know what Facebook is you're on top of your game, think again!! Most young kids consider this the old people's social media.
The next app that we'll discuss is Twitter. This is where you can send a tweet. This is made up of short snippets of your thoughts and activities for the day and is often times where you'll find a hash-tag trending like #whatisatweetanyway. If you're really trying to get in with the kids, this is the one to put at the top of your social media apps to master list.
Instagram is like Facebook, but just pictures that you can post instantly from your phone and share. This one is highly used by teens and most often this is where you will find an infamous selfie!
Last but not least, is Snapchat. This is an app where you can take a picture or video on your phone and send them to whomever you want. They can view it for up to 10 seconds and then it's gone for good. This is highly popular with teens and is appropriate for use by the oldies! If you are looking to impress someone of the younger generation then this is definitely the way to go.
